Zara Home collaborates for a second time with Belgian designer and architect Vincent Van Duysen

Zara Home is collaborating with Belgian designer and architect Vincent Van Duysen for a second collection of furniture, homewares, and textiles, set to launch in June 2023.

The collection mainly focuses on the dining room, with the concept of togetherness being the overarching theme for designer Vincent Van Duysen. Each piece was designed with the idea of conviviality and helping diners experience. “This is a collection inspired by convivial moments around a dining table, in the company of your loved ones,” explains Van Duysen. He further describes the collection as feeling like a homecoming, due to its dimensions, sensorial aspects, look, and feel all reflecting his work.

The collection takes inspiration from Van Duysen’s archives and features his typically pared-back aesthetic, prioritizing intentionally simple forms and materials. In fact, the objects in the collection are designed to be timeless and versatile, intended to be repurposed throughout one’s lifetime as an antidote to throwaway culture. Van Duysen‘s own approach to dining and hosting informed the collection’s versatility, with objects designed for both intimate and large gatherings. According to the designer, this new chapter in the collaboration is a celebration of conviviality and a slower, more balanced way of life.

In terms of the collection’s content, the material palette focuses on tactility and includes solid oak and ash, leather, linen, jute, and limestone. This creates a sense of purity and simplicity in the pieces while also maintaining a bold aesthetic. The collection includes larger furniture pieces such as dining tables, a sideboard, a cabinet, armchairs, a love seat, sofas, side tables, a console/desk, dining chairs, and stools. Textiles and decorative objects include carpets, table lamps, glassware, tableware, candles, and home fragrance.
