Magnum brought together Kylie Minogue and Peggy Gou to create the ultimate summertime remix of a classic

Magnum has collaborated with South Korean dance music legend Peggy Gou and ultimate pop diva Kylie Minogue to create the ultimate remix of the timeless iconic Kylie Minogue song, “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” from 2001. It was created in honour of the new Magnum Remix line of expertly made twice-dipped duo ice creams that are inspired by the classics. The music video by Seoul-based artist Seo Inji showcases amazing visuals and animations that explore the fusion of ’00s nostalgia and trailblazing Korean pop culture.

“I can’t quite believe it’s been twenty years since I released this song! I’m a big fan of Peggy and I’m so excited for everyone to hear this remix!”, Kylie stated in reference to the duet.

The film being an innovative fusion of old and new, their collaboration serves as a reminder that Classics Can Be Remixed. Tomás Ostiglia, executive creative director at Lola Mullen Lowe Madrid, said, “Having the chance to bring together two big stars of popular culture, the icon that is Kylie Minogue and the freshness that is Peggy Gou, to prove that classics can be remixed has been such an enjoyable process.”

As a result of The Classics Can Be Remixed, fresh flavours that were inspired by Magnum’s classics line are now available, creating a campaign that is fully integrated across earned media, paid digital, paid and organic social media, and influencer platforms.

The Kylie Remix is inspired by the hypnotic beginning chant of Kylie’s top-charting single.

The Peggy Remix is a strikingly remixed version of a classic that features Peggy Gou’s distinctive Korean logo.

The worldwide active campaign, which features music from Big Sync Music, has a strong social focus and a lot of carefully thought-out activations to expand the campaign’s reach and impact. Influencers who had been carefully chosen attended the Cannes Film Festival debut and captured the remix’s release in their own genuine content. Influencers were also taught the original Can’t Get You Out of My Head dance as part of the campaign’s partnership with TikTok, which increased the campaign’s talkability and engagement among younger audiences.

This Magnum’s partnership with those two artists carries on the brand’s long history of supporting and partnering with creative disruptors who inspire others by being authentic to themselves and breaking down barriers in music, art, and culture.

Magnum has previously been brought together with global icons like Miley Cyrus and Halsey for many years, but what was needed for 2022 looked different, according to Katie-Jo Flynn, executive director of GOLIN London. Today’s branded talent collaborations, she continues, must be genuine, surprising, and most crucially, have a compelling story that serves as the foundation for the content. She contends that Magnum’s Classics Can Be Remixed campaign not only brought together two well-known figures, but the creative that resulted from this triangular cooperation seems authentically avant-garde. Finally, she argues that this summer Pleasure Seekers need some much-needed nostalgia from the 2000s blended with the vivacity of 2022.
